Due to trench warfare, the war of attrition was having a massive impact on casualties and the finances of the nations involved. However, America entering the war tipped the balance in favour of the Allies and resulted in an Allied victory. However, Russia withdrawing from the conflict just months later meant a certain victory for the Allies was threatened. However, the economic support and troops that America provided, resulted in the Central Powers withdrawing from the conflict and the Allies winning the war.
