The Impact of WW1
The end of WW1 result in a new world. The first large scale world war shocked the world into rethinking what the new world would look like. As a result, many new nations arose to minimise the threat of imperial expansion causing another war. The peace treaty signed with Germany (Treaty of Versailles) aimed at punishing Germany to such an extent that they would never be powerful enough to wage another war. Back at home, a new nationalist identity was formed in the 'ANZAC myth.' With hindsight we know that another World War was not prevented and this topic will explore the details and impact of the Treaty of Versailles and the ANZAC myth.
